CLIENT

MISC: Each project I’ve taken on has been a journey filled with its own set of challenges and unforgettable moments. Whether it was crafting a campaign for Charleston’s mayoral candidate or designing a vibrant happy hour landing page for Mex 1, I always dove in headfirst. Each experience taught me something new—not only about my clients and their needs, but also about myself as a designer. The variety and creativity in every project kept me inspired and eager to tackle whatever came next.

IDENTIFY

When I’m presented with a new design challenge or meet with a potential client, my first instinct is always to identify the core problem. As a designer, my job isn’t just to create something visually appealing—it’s to solve a problem using the perfect balance of form and function. This phase is crucial because it sets the foundation for everything that follows. I dig deep, learning as much as I can about both the client and their audience, ensuring I understand the full scope of the challenge.

Research

Once I’ve had that initial conversation, the next step is diving into research. I take my time exploring every detail that could inform the project. This includes examining the current market, looking at visual brands that might be similar, and studying the competition. I also make it a priority to define the client’s unique position in the market and narrow down the key demographics. The goal is always to gather as much insight as possible, allowing me to approach the design with a strategic mindset.

EXECUTION

When it comes to execution, I adopt an agile design sprint approach, which allows me to move quickly while maintaining high quality. Working in sprints means I can share my progress with the team, gather feedback, and make adjustments in real time. This iterative process ensures the project stays on track and evolves in the right direction. It’s also where my attention to detail truly shines—I meticulously review every element to ensure it’s polished and ready for the client. By the end, the design doesn’t just meet expectations; it exceeds them, solving the problem in the most effective and visually compelling way possible.
